The Story Behind Hattie’s Fund

Loving, loyal, and full of southern charm, Hattie was a miniature dachshund who lived a life as big as her heart.

From being raised alongside her puppy sisters to spending weeks as the beloved mascot of 120 sorority sisters at Indiana University, Hattie brought joy wherever her short legs took her. She was a true adventurer who traveled to 11 states, and once even sprinted to a 12th-place finish out of 120 dogs in the Fort Wayne Wiener Dog Race!

In her final years, Hattie faced the quiet challenges of aging, including canine dementia. On February 4, 2023, she peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge.

To honor her beautiful spirit, we partnered with The Arrow Fund to create Hattie’s Fund. This lasting legacy is dedicated entirely to providing comfort, specialized care, and dignity to senior, hospice, and forever-foster animals who face their own quiet challenges.

Through Hattie’s memory, we can ensure no animal spends their final days without experiencing unconditional love.
