Donor-Advised Funds & Qualified Charitable Distributions
Smart Giving
At The Arrow Fund, we are dedicated to providing advanced medical intervention to animal victims of extreme torture, abuse, and neglect. Because our cases require specialized, high-cost trauma surgeries and intensive veterinary care, traditional giving methods aren’t your only options.
By using Smart Giving tools such as Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) and Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), you can maximize your generosity, minimize your tax burden, and provide an immediate lifeline to animals fighting to survive.
Give via a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is like a charitable investment account. It allows you to contribute cash, stocks, or other assets to a fund, take an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to your favorite charities—like The Arrow Fund—over time.
Why Give to TAF via Your DAF?
- Maximize Your Tax Benefits: You receive an immediate income tax deduction the year you contribute to your DAF, even if the funds aren’t distributed to us until later.
- Grow Your Investment Tax-Free: While the money sits in your DAF, it can be invested and grow entirely tax-free, giving you even more “giving power” to fund extensive veterinary recoveries.
- Simplify Your Giving: You can manage all your charitable contributions from a single online dashboard (such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or Vanguard Charitable) without tracking multiple donation receipts.
How to Recommend a Grant:
Log in to your DAF online portal and search for us using our official details:
- Legal Name: The Arrow Fund, Inc.
- Mailing Address: P.O. Box 1127, Prospect, KY 40059
- Tax ID / EIN: 61-1396389
Give via a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
If you are 70½ or older, you can make a massive impact directly from your traditional IRA through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). A QCD allows you to instruct your IRA custodian to transfer funds directly from your retirement account to The Arrow Fund without those funds ever touching your personal bank account.
Why a QCD is the Smartest Way to Give for Seniors:
- Completely Tax-Free: Because the funds go directly from your IRA to TAF, the distribution is 100% excluded from your adjusted gross income (AGI). This saves you money on income taxes, even if you take the standard deduction and do not itemize!
- Satisfy Your RMD: If you are required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your traditional IRA, your direct QCD gift to The Arrow Fund counts toward satisfying that annual requirement.
- Beat the Tax Bracket Jump: By keeping the IRA distribution out of your personal AGI, a QCD can help prevent you from getting pushed into a higher tax bracket or triggering higher Medicare premiums.
How to Initiate a QCD:
Note: To qualify as a tax-free QCD, the check must be made payable directly to The Arrow Fund. If the funds are distributed to you first, the tax benefits are lost!
- Contact your IRA custodian or financial advisor.
- Request a Qualified Charitable Distribution Form.
- Instruct them to issue a direct check to The Arrow Fund, Inc., using our Tax ID (61-1396389) and mail it to our P.O. Box listed below.
