Leave a Lifesaving Legacy

Remembering The Arrow Fund in Your Estate Plans

At The Arrow Fund, we are dedicated to providing specialized, high-tier medical treatment and rehabilitation to animal victims of extreme torture, abuse, and neglect. While our daily work focuses on immediate crisis intervention, our long-term stability relies on forward-thinking heroes who decide to protect these vulnerable animals long into the future.

By choosing to include The Arrow Fund in your estate plans, you ensure that regional animal victims will always have a dedicated, state-of-the-art trauma unit ready to fight for their lives, while potentially providing your estate with significant tax relief.

Whether you are celebrating a birthday, running a race, honoring a beloved pet, or just rallying your friends and family, every dollar you raise goes directly toward funding the intensive, round-the-clock medical care and rehabilitation these resilient survivors deserve.

Ways to Name The Arrow Fund in Your Will or Trust

Including The Arrow Fund in your will or living trust is one of the simplest and most flexible ways to leave a lasting legacy. You retain full control over your assets during your lifetime, and you can alter your plans at any time if your family’s needs change.

Your attorney can help you structure a bequest in one of three ways:

Pecuniary Bequest

A gift of a fixed, exact sum of money (e.g., leaving a set gift of $10,000) or a specific percentage of your total estate.

Residuary Bequest

A gift of all or a designated portion of the remainder of your estate after all specific gifts, debts, taxes, and family beneficiaries have been taken care of.

Specific Bequest

A gift of a specific asset, such as a piece of real estate, physical property, or family heirloom, to be utilized by the rescue.

Already have a completed will? You do not need to rewrite your entire estate plan to include our animals. Your attorney can easily add a simple, one-page amendment called a Codicil to your existing documentation to declare your wishes.

Beneficiary Designations

You can support The Arrow Fund after your lifetime without even modifying your will. Many financial assets allow you to name a “Transfer on Death” (TOD) or “Paid on Death” (POD) beneficiary. These designations pass directly to TAF outside of the lengthy probate process.

You can designate The Arrow Fund as a primary or partial beneficiary on:

  • Life Insurance Policies: Name TAF as a beneficiary to receive all or a portion of a policy’s payout.
  • Retirement Accounts: Naming TAF as the beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b) is highly tax-efficient, as nonprofits do not have to pay the income taxes that individual heirs would face on these specific accounts.
  • Commercial Bank Accounts: Fill out a simple beneficiary form with your local bank for your standard checking or savings accounts.
