My Story

Lacey

Lacey’s came into our care with multiple tumors – one the size of a grapefruit. All of the tumors were removed but unfortunately, the larger the tumor, the poorer the prognosis. The biopsy revealed mammary carcinoma which has metastasized and spread to her lymph nodes. Lacey is enjoying life in her foster home right now as she’s been carrying around that big tumor for a long time. She will become part of our hospice program where we will ensure she continues to enjoy the time she has left. We would like to emphasize the importance of spaying at a young age which greatly reduces the risk of mammary and uterine cancer as well as the importance of early intervention when a small tumor is detected.
