Bean’s Story
Gender: male

TAF Intake with a broken rib and punctured lung: dear Arrow Fund family, please meet this cute little (coffee) Bean. He’s a sweet-natured chi mix who arrived at LMAS with deep bite wounds to his neck, a broken rib, and a punctured lung.

It was clear this gentle 8-to-10-year-old boy had been the victim of a dog fight and neglect that left him in yelping pain when he was picked up.
This sweetheart desperately needed medical intervention, TLC, and a peaceful place to recuperate.

When animal advocates made a plea for The Arrow Fund to intervene on his behalf, we could not look into those soft, chocolate brown eyes and turn away.
We had him evaluated at Dogwood Veterinary Clinic. There, Dr. Chris told us that Bean also has a significant heart murmur and needs to have an echocardiogram to determine if his heart’s condition can withstand surgery.

While the echocardiogram will take weeks to schedule an appointment, this little guy is now safe, loved on, and being cared for by Arrow Fund foster mom Annamaria. 💙
Bean has proven that while he may be tiny, he’s mighty! He’s doing amazing with his foster mom and is completely fearless and chill around her big German Shepherd, so he’s definitely dog-friendly!

“He loves to cuddle, is great on a leash, and is crate trained,” Annamaria said. She said they are also working on consistent potty training (something that may have also been neglected in his past), but that he’s doing great with that, too.

What Bean needs MOST is time in a loving, foster-to-adopt home. The Arrow Fund will take care of ALL of his foster and medical needs, food, etc.!
Do you need a small-but-mighty 14-pound sweetheart with large ears, soft eyes, and compact body to cuddle with on the couch? Bean may be just the cup of java you’ve been craving!

He is ready to be fostered to be adopted. Is that your family?
