Breed: Mix Breed
When Sterling first came to The Arrow Fund, he was broken in so many ways. He had lost all trust in humans and was terrified. He hasn’t had the use of his back legs since he was just a baby due to severe neglect. Well, this little guy has done a complete 180! He is so happy in his new home with his new family. New parents, Cheryl and Richard, are just smitten with this precious boy, and he with them. According to Cheryl, Sterling is quite the daddy’s boy. He would prefer if Richard were home with him all day long. They have been fostering Sterling for some time now and just couldn’t imagine him not being part of their family. Sterling is surrounded by many fur siblings who love him dearly, even Duke, pictured here with his new brother. We are so grateful for Cheryl and Richard. With them, Sterling has made such amazing progress and has come to know what love is. Thank you!!!! Cheryl and Richard ~ WELCOME TO THE ARROW FUND FAMILY!!!!!
We want to say thanks to all who have followed Sterling through his journey . We know now, he is surrounded by love and care. That is what we want for them all !

Sterling has been placed in his foster home where he will be cared for by an amazing couple who have already begun to shower this sweet baby with love, attention, and most importantly, toys! Sterling came from a home where he was neglected and abused for nearly a year. He is so sweet, kind, and gentle. We simply cannot fathom how anyone could let him suffer. His fosters are prepared to not only assist with the physical damage, but the emotional damage as well. He is in great hands!
Sterling came to us with a severe injury that caused him to lose function of his back legs. He will soon receive his set of wheels to help him get around with ease. We will be looking into his physical therapy needs. He is quite underweight and so we are also focusing on his slow and steady weight gain. He is on medications to help treat the bacterial infection that in his eyes, ears, and skin. Please continue to pray for sweet Sterling!
Donations are needed and so very much appreciated. Please go to www.TheArrowFund.org to donate. Checks may be mailed to P.O. Box 1127, Prospect, KY 40059.
Thank you for your support!

Foster application available at thearrowfund.org/volunteer/ . Please note: fosters must be in the Louisville area so that they have access to our approved veterinarians.
Sterling is ready to move on from Blue Pearl into a foster home! We are sending out a plea for a special kind of foster who can attend to his needs both physically and emotionally.
Sterling has incurred injuries that have had a lasting effect on his back legs so he will be equipped with wheels. The home will need to safely accommodate his wheelchair. Sterling has only known abuse and neglect his whole life; love and compassion have never been expressed towards him. Because of this, he is having to learn how to trust people and how to welcome them into his life. The only people he has known until now abused him. He is learning, but this special foster will need to understand that this is a process and that he will get there, it will just take time.
If you think that you might be the right foster home for Sterling, please download the foster application from thearrowfund.org/volunteer/ and submit to email@example.com .
Thank you for all of your support!

Sterling is showing improvements in all areas! The bacterial infection (in his eyes, ears, and skin) are all showing positive progress. It has also been determined that he will more than likely be able to keep both of his eyes! It is difficult to track specific weight gain, because he had to have so much fur shaved to remove the matting, but he is accepting food well and responding great to meal-times! Now that he has been shaved, we will be able to better determine weight gain from here on out. Sterling’s back legs are still being evaluated to determine what can be done to help him; we will update when we know more in this area.
Sterling has survived a lifetime of abuse, and we are honored that we can show him the love and care that he has always deserved! He will need to gain confidence and trust to overcome his past, but we have no doubt that he is already well on his way – he’s already selected a few of his favorite people amongst his many care takers!
DONATIONS ARE NEEDED – The Arrow Fund has been hit very hard recently when we took in many cases during a short time period. Donations are always appreciated! You can donate online at www.TheArrowFund.org or checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 1127, Prospect, KY 40059.
STERLING’S STORY – Sterling came to us from Henderson County, KY. The shelter that called us told us “a man was literally choking the dog in our lobby with the slip leash”. Upon arrival, Sterling was emaciated, had a matted stinking pelt, massive infections in his ears, eyes, and skin.
Thank you all for your continued support!
