Update – Poppy
Poppy, the Boxer that came to us with a broken jaw, went to get her routine vaccinations this past weekend. Dr. Ashley Ladegast from All Pets aspirated a suspicious spot found on Poppy and the biopsy results came back yesterday. Sadly, the spot is a mast cell tumor, which is cancerous in nature. Surgery to remove the tumor has been scheduled for next week. Please keep Poppy in your thoughts and prayers.
We will need a foster for Poppy (and future dogs) after she will be released from the hospital, so that she will not have to recover from surgery in a kennel environment. If there is any way for you to foster Poppy or other pets, please download and complete a foster application.
DONATIONS ARE NEEDED, IF YOU ARE ABLE !

Foster or Adopter needed urgently
Poppy , the Boxer that came to us with a broken jaw, has been discharged from the hospital and her recovery is doing well. She went into foster care, and her fosters quickly learned that she is not compatible with other pets. We are urgently looking for a foster or a forever home for Poppy, where she will be the only pet. Poppy is otherwise a wonderful dog and could not be more affectionate with people. If you or someone you know is interested in her, please complete a foster or an adoption application (they can be found at www.thearrowfund.org) and submit the completed application to foster @thearrowfund.org or email@example.com. If Poppy does not find a home by Monday, we will have to board her, which is not ideal for any dog. We have several dogs in boarding already and are trying to avoid this. Needless, our boarding cost is becoming a burden for us. Donations are needed and can be sent to PO Box 1127, Prospect, KY. Please help out in any way you can. Together, we can do this!

UPDATE – POPPY – FEMALE BOXER WITH BOTH SIDES OF LOWER JAW SEVERELY BROKEN , INFECTION, AND TEETH BROKEN THROUGHOUT THE MOUTH, INCLUDING HER CANINE BEING JAMMED UP INTO HER NOSTRIL.
POPPY HAD A CT SCAN AND SURGERY LATE LAST NIGHT BY DR. PATTI SURA AND HER SURGICAL TEAM . A PORTION OF THE LOWER JAW ON BOTH SIDES NEEDED TO BE SURGICALLY REMOVED . THE DAMAGE WAS GREAT .
POPPY ALSO HAD MANY BROKEN TEETH THROUGHOUT HER MOUTH , THESE WERE REPAIRED . A SURGICAL PROCEDURE WAS ALSO DONE TO FIND HER CANINE TOOTH THAT WAS LODGED UP INTO HER NOSTRIL.
THE RESULTS ARE SIMPLY AMAZING ! POPPY DID WELL DURING THE PROCEDURE AND IS RECOVERING. WE ARE SO PLEASED . POPPY EVEN ATE THIS MORNING FOR DR. SURA ! WHATEVER BLOW POPPY HAD TO THE MOUTH WAS VERY POWERFUL… THE ARROW FUND IS HONORED THAT WE COULD SAVE THIS BABY ! SHE WAS IN HORRIBLE SHAPE UPON ARRIVAL .
Poppy will continue to be on IV pain meds, and antibiotics . As her mouth heals she will be able to eat better but for now she is getting it down. Infection is always a fear, but Poppy is being monitored 24 hours a day for now.
Poppy is a petite , beautiful female boxer . The Arrow Fund is honored that we could help this little girl.
THE ARROW FUND NEW INTAKE – LATE YESTERDAY – POPPY
(That makes 3 intakes in a 24 hr. period – 4 total this week alone ! )
WE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM NEW ALBANY FLOYD COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER AND THEY ASKED FOR THE ARROW FUND’S HELP WITH THIS BOXER GIRL. SHE HAS SEVERE JAW FRACTURES WITH INFECTION. WE AGREED TO HELP HER AND SHE IS NOW AT BLUE PEARL . WE HAVE NAMED THIS SWEET GIRL POPPY.
After speaking with the surgeon – they will know what is best for her once she is sedated and in surgery . Most likely surgery will happen today . Radiographs have been done. The fractures may be able to be repaired or some of the jaw may need to be removed first and then repaired. All will be decided during the actual surgery . Many factors are involved including the amount of infection . We have given Dr. Patti Sura the okay to do what she feels is the best course of action for Poppy . Poppy is on IV antibiotics and pain medicine and is on stand by for surgery . She is a petite beautiful girl , please keep this baby close to your heart .
You must know that we have tremendous medical bills . So for that reason I will always have to ask for donations. So, if you are able , please send a donation to www.thearrowfund.org and checks may be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127 Prospect , Kentucky 40059.
Please consider becoming a foster for The Arrow Fund . The rewards are great for you and it is truly a lifesaver for the animal.
Also , when looking to add to your family – please check out the wonderful animals that The Arrow Fund has up for adoption !
Thanks to you all and I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend.
Peace ~Rebecca~The Arrow Fund~
