Another reason to be proud of The Arrow Fund Hospice Program ! Remember Pinkie ? Pinkie came to us in November 2016 completely emaciated needing an immediate transfusion . She also showed signs of early renal failure . With a lot of hospitalization and advanced medical care Pinkie was eventually allowed to go to her foster home . Pinkie is on blood pressure meds and also has protein in her urine . This little girl must receive fluids everyday for the rest of her life . She also goes in for check ups and lab work regularly.
Under the love and care of her Foster Hospice Mama Donna Knott , she certainly knows love and what being in a caring home is . She loves to ride in the car and has bonded with her foster siblings at home .
We simply do not know how long we will have with this precious Angel . Her lab work did improve some this past check up ! What we do know is that Pinkie is a part of our family and we as The Arrow Fund feel honored to help her for every day that she will be with us on this Earth . She is loving life right now !
So yes , we are proud of our Hospice Program and we have you to thank !
Pinkie is happy and thriving in her foster home. Her foster mom says that she is doing well and has a pack of chihuahuas to help her adjust to being a happy pup.
She is receiving fluids daily and will go back to Blue Pearl in a couple of weeks for a checkup. Thank you to Donna Knott for again fostering.
And as always thanks for all your support.
Update – Pinkie ❤️
Pinkie came to us in critical shape emaciated at 6.6 pounds needing an immediate transfusion . She is still at Blue Pearl under 24 hour care . The last picture shows her the day she came to us . The other pictures are from today . She went through a period of not eating and suffering from high blood pressure . Once she was put on blood pressure meds she slowly started to eat – she weighs 7 pounds as of today . She is still severely underweight but going in the right direction. 🐾
An aspiration of her spleen was taken and we are pleased to say it came back negative for cancer . Her platelets are slowly climbing. Pinkie saw the eye specialist and is on drops . Pinkie is also in early signs of renal disease . She is on IV fluids currently . Most likely when she does go to a foster home she will need subcutaneous fluids each day for an undetermined amount of time . We just will have to take it one day at a time with this sweet baby girl . 🐾
We sure appreciate you ! Yes – you !
Your support is what helps us continue to help these innocent victims of such abuse . We are so thankful ….🐾
Humanely yours ,
The Arrow Fund 🐾
Update – Pinkie ❤️
Pinkie is in critical condition – the last picture shows how she came to us – totally emaciated. She weighs 6.6 pounds . Upon arrival to us she required a blood transfusion immediately . Her PCV ( packed blood volume ) was 15 – 20 is usually the number when transfusions are done – especially if clinical signs are shown. Her PCV number went up to 25 then back to 19 and they currently are at 21 . Pinkie is showing signs of early renal failure now . She ate initially a small amount and now for the last 36 hours she is refusing to eat . Her blood pressure has been running high – so a blood pressure medication has been added . We also pulled a sample of her spleen on day 2 to send off for testing . 🐾
Pixie is very critical – we do not know all of what we are dealing with yet . We are exploring all options and doing all that we can for this sweet Angel . We do know that letting this poor girl get to this body weight and doing nothing is abuse . The body starts to shut down . Pinkie is a sweet , precious baby and she needs us all … 🐾
Our sincere thank you to our family of supporters ! There are so many ways to make a difference – sharing our posts , donating , fostering , volunteering, etc ….
We appreciate you all and these innocent victims of abuse sure do benefit from your kindness !
Humanely yours ,
The Arrow Fund
