Remember Ocean? She was hit by a car and left for three days while people watched her struggle to stand and kept on going. An angel finally helped her get to the Arrow Fund and Blue Pearl. She had two fractures in the pelvic region, open wounds, was heartworm positive, and she had to have her back leg amputated.
Thanks to your support, we are happy to share that she has been adopted by Annette. Annette saw her thru phase two of her heartworm treatment as her foster Mom and lovingly made her part of her forever family. Ocean has a huge amount of acres to run on, kitty siblings to love, and her bff canine brother, Trent, who is adorable. Ocean has it made at her new, beautiful home.
We must thank Blue Pearl, All Pets, Tim and Lori who saw Ocean thru phase one of her heartworm treatment and of course, Annette for opening her heart and home to Ocean. We are so grateful to all of you for your parts in Ocean’s new lease on life.
Please join us in welcoming Annette to our Arrow Fund family!
We just love a tail wagging happy ending, don’t you?

“Ocean” continues to recover from the amputation of her back leg. She is seen here -post op – first time out after surgery. She is able to stand now and walk very slowly sometimes- other times she must be taken out using a sling . It is especially hard for her because her pelvis was fractured and her recent surgery involved putting a plate on her pelvic region to stabilize the 2 fractures . Her activity must be restricted while recovering. Please send this sweet girl love and prayers . Donations are sadly always needed.
www.thearrowfund.org Thanks so much to YOU for the support that you give to The Arrow Fund. ~Rebecca~The Arrow Fund~
“Ocean” came to The Arrow Fund after being hit by a car and left on the side of the road suffering for 3 days while people passed her by.
Today “Ocean” went into surgery to attach 2 plates to stabilize her pelvis which had 2 fractures – After 5 hours of surgery and only one plate positioned – the call was made to amputate her back leg. The second plate was not going to get the results we had hoped for. She is pictured here being comforted after her long surgery. This sweet girl has had a rough day . Thanks for the long hours put in by the surgery team and those caring for her at Blue Pearl . “Ocean” had been suffering from anemia from blood loss from the fractures – thankfully her blood levels have improved. In the near future “Ocean” will begin her treatment for testing positive for heartworms.
As you see most of our cases are many faceted – that is one reason donations are so important . If you are able to donate please go to www.thearrowfund.org or checks may be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127 Prospect, Kentucky 40059. Please share our post and send love and prayers to this sweet girl. Thanks to you all that support The Arrow Fund – we are so thankful for your kindness and support.

“Ocean” was hit by a car and suffered by the side of the road while people passed her by for 3 days …
“OCEAN” WAS HIT BY A CAR AND LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR 3 DAYS – SHE WAS IN PAIN AND HURT – WHILE EVERYONE PASSED HER BY.
“Ocean” was transferred to The Arrow Fund yesterday from Davvies County Animal Control – she was hit by a car and many people passed her while she struggled to stand . On the 3rd day Animal Control was called and we were contacted. “Ocean” has 2 fractures in the pelvic region that will require surgical repair . Actually two plates will be placed to stabilize the fractures. This surgery will take place Monday . She sadly has tested a high positive for heartworms . Knowing this we still will proceed with surgery . After surgery for her pelvis fractures , she will start on Heartworm Treatment. We have also sent out a full tick panel and we are waiting on results for that. For now she is on IV fluids because she was dehydrated and she is also on IV Pain Meds due to her fractures . She also has 2 wounds on her from being hit , they have been cleaned and will remain open to heal. This girl is estimated to be about 3 to 4 years old. She is very gentle and sweet . We feel she is a Weimaraner and Lab Mix. She is just beautiful and her eyes are just stunning. She has a long road to recovery, but we are all hopeful .
Donations for “Ocean” are needed , if you are able. Please go to www.thearrowfund.org or hit the “donate button” on our facebook page . You may also send checks to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127 Prospect, Kentucky 40059. If you are unable to donate- please share her story and ask your friends to “LIKE” The Arrow Fund on facebook.
We also would love for everyone to send this girl love, light, and prayers…. Thanks to everyone out there that supports The Arrow Fund and our mission to help these “forgotten angels” of severe torture, abuse, and neglect.
