LASSIE ,SEEN HERE WITH HER FOSTER MAMA TAMI, IS GAINING STRENGTH EACH DAY, BUT IS STILL VERY SORE FROM SURGERY TO CORRECT GASTRIC TORSION. HER TEMPERATURE HAS BEEN UP AND DOWN . AS I TYPE THIS UPDATE HER TEMPERATURE IS NORMAL. PLEASE KEEP LOVE , LIGHT , AND PRAYERS GOING FOR OUR SWEET BABY LASSIE.
Lassie is having ups and downs after her gastric torsion surgery. That was such a serious surgery on a dog that was still recovering from the horrific neglect she had suffered from her abusers. Her appetite has not been great , so her wonderful fosters Tami and Tabby loaded her up at the hopistal with canned white meat chicken. We heated a can up for her and she ate the whole can ! Her temperature, which has been up and down, is in the normal range as I type this.
This girl is amazing, four of us were sitting in a circle and Lassie spent a few minutes with each of us, and then kept going around and around to continue giving us all love. She melts your heart for sure…
Please continue to send prayers for our baby Lassie as she continues to fight and return to full health….
Donations would be appreciated , as always, if you are able.
Please go to www.thearrowfund.org or checks may be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O.Box 1127 Prospect, Kentucky 40059.
Thank you friends for fighting the fight beside us against severe torture , abuse , and neglect….
Peace to you ~Rebecca~The Arrow Fund~
LASSIE IS RESTING AFTER HER EMERGENCY SURGERY FOR GASTRIC TORSION. THE MAIN CONCERN THROUGHOUT LAST NIGHT AND MOST OF TODAY WAS LOW TEMPERATURE , IT HAS BEEN HOVERING BETWEEN 95 AND 96, BUT HER LAST TEMPERATURE WAS 98.1 !
Update – Lassie – The Arrow Fund
The next 36 hours will be critical for Lassie after this serious surgery.
She is still quite groggy and will be kept on pain medication. She is being minitored 24 hours a day at Blue Pearl – Louisville. This surgery requires a very large incision and will be a long recovery time. Lassie really is not interested in food at this time, which is understandable. We are hoping her temperature will be in the normal range and hold steady soon.
Please send thoughts and prayers to this baby girl.
Donations are NEEDED , if you are able. Our Hospital and Vet bills are very high. to donate please go to www.thearrowfund.org or checks may be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127 Prospect, Kentucky . We thank each and everyone of you for your support to The Arrow Fund.

PATTI SURA AND THE SURGICAL TEAM WHO WERE CALLED IN AND ACTED SO FAST . THANK YOU DR. SMOCK FOR DIAGNOSING SO QUICKLY AND CALLING IN THE SURGERY TEAM . TAMI AND TABBY , HER FOSTERS CAUGHT THIS QUICK AND HEADED STRAIGHT TO THE HOSPITAL – FOR ALL OF THESE THINGS WE ARE GRATEFUL.
PLEASE KEEP OUR BABY GIRL CLOSE TO YOUR HEART .

PLEASE LASSIE … FIGHT BABY GIRL…. WE LOVE YOU SO…
LASSIE IS ALL SNUGGLED UP AND GETTING LOTS OF LOVE AS SHE CONTINUES TO HEAL AT ALL PETS VETERINARY CENTER .
Lassie is simply loved by all who meet her. She is beautiful now , but can you imagine when she is at her ideal weight and her coat fully grown? Lassie is still eating well and we are trying to get her weight up. We are waiting for the MDR1 test results. Lassie most of the time follows Dr. Ladagast around the hospital ! Thanks to all of the staff for treating our girl so well ! I just love this picture – she indeed does look like an Angel….
Adoption applications are being accepted at this time. Lassie is not medically released yet but we would like to have her home set up for when she is. The application can be found on our website www.thearrowfund.org Please keep in mind foster applications for Arrow Fund animals are found on our website too.
Donations are needed and always so very much appreciated! You can donate online at www.thearrowfund.org
or checks can be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127, Prospect, KY 40059.
Thanks everyone for supporting The Arrow Fund ! We appreciate you all !
Lassie just needed some much needed rest after coming to us in such horrific shape. Her rump area that was so infected is healing well. She is hovering around the 49.2 weight mark. It is believed that Lassie is much younger than the 11 year old age range we were told when she arrived. She looked so bad and was in such poor condition she did look that old ! It is now believed that she is around 7 or 8 years old. We hope to transfer Lassie tomorrow or Tuesday from Blue Pearl to All Pets Veterinary Center . She will then receive her shots (if approved by the Vet – this may be delayed until she gains a little more weight and heals a little more) and a tick panel will be run. When Lassie is well enough she will be spayed . We are still looking for the perfect fit foster home for this beauty !
Thanks for all who support The Arrow Fund. We are All volunteers and we appreciate your patience and concern about each of our babies ! They are our top priority and we strive to give them the best medical care.
Donations to The Arrow Fund can be made at www.thearrowfund.org or checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 1127, Prospect, KY 40059.
Thanks all !

LASSIE IS FEELING SO MUCH BETTER ! SHE CAME IN AT 44 POUNDS AND AFTER 6 DAYS SHE NOW WEIGHS 49.1. a WEIGHT GAIN OF 5.1 POUNDS. HER TEMPERATURE WHICH WAS ONCE 107 AND THEN HOVERED AROUND 98 IS NOW IN THE NORMAL RANGE!
Lassie actually played today and did a play bow ! The last 4 times I visited Lassie she hardly would raise her head , now she is acting like a playful, loving baby girl . 2 Vets have said based on her teeth , they age her around 6 or 7 . We were told she was 11 . She sure looked like it and did act like it upon arrival. Now with 24 hour emergency care and proper nutrition this sweetheart is back with the living!
Lassie still is a body scale 3 on a scale of 1 to 9 . So she still has some weight to gain and healing to do, but we now feel so positive about her recovery ! Living outside all of her life without any or very little care and very little nutrition almost cost this baby her life ! If anyone would like to send Lassie a temperpedic bed – she needs one for her foster home and it will go with her to her forever home. If interested you may send it to our P.O. Box .
We are now trying to find Lassie the perfect foster home . She still has weight to gain and needs more healing . If you would ever like to be considered for a foster home or adoption home for an Arrow Fund animal our applications are on our website at www.thearrowfund.org.
DONATIONS ARE NEEDED , if you are able . We have several ongoing cases and our bills are very high. Donations can be made at www.thearrowfund.org and checks may be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127 Prospect, Kentucky 40059.
Thanks for supporting The Arrow Fund – we simply could not go on without you all.
LASSIE IS VERY WEAK- BUT SHE IS STABLE AT THIS POINT. HER TEMPERATURE IS NOW GOING BETWEEN 99 AND 101 AND IT WAS 107 YESTERDAY. WE REPORTED 106 ORIGINALLY BUT THE VET IN DAVIESS COUNTY SENT A REPORT SAYING THAT IT INDEED WAS 107.

Lassie – Update – The Arrow Fund
Upon arrival to us Lassie was very weak . The Vet in Daviess had shaved her matted pelt off of her . (She needs to be shaved evenly – but that must wait until this baby feels better ) Maggots were documented in pictures from Animal Control. She is emaciated and we have her on very small meals several times a day. Her blood panel is consistent with a dog that is malnourished. She is Heartworm Negative – YES ! Lassie lived her whole life outside, which is heartbreaking.
Our main concern at this point is watching her after suffering such a high fever. Through blood work her organ functions seem okay but we are still a bit worried about her cognitive function. There seems to be a slight disconnect . We hope it is just that this girl has never had a soft bed to curl up on and she is exhausted ! She is now on a Temperpedic bed covered with a blanket . She is getting up when she is asked to go outside to potty but she is having a hard time walking. She is just so weak…. So again we are hoping that with good nutrition and rest she will improve – we sure hope her lethargy is not due to the high temperature. No matter what -she is a doll baby ! So gentle and sweet… We are unsure on her age – we were told 11 – but judging from her teeth she could be years younger . We do know dogs that live a very hard life outdoors and are not provided with good nutrition and proper care can look and act much older.
So time will tell with this beauty. The Arrow Fund feels so honored that we were able to get her care so quickly. A sincere thank you to our transporters Jennifer Jackson and Felicia Ramsey !
Donations to The Arrow Fund would be so appreciated ! Please go to www.thearrowfund.org or checks may be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127 Prospect, Kentucky 40059.
As always , thank you for supporting The Arrow Fund ! We appreciate you all !
