King has been Adopted!
King came to us in very bad shape, severe neglect. After months of intense treatment he now has been adopted and is so loved by his new family. Karen , Jeff , and Will were the perfect home for this beautiful boy. What a joy it is to see an animal ,that most likely has never been truly loved , surrounded by love. King certainly returns that love to all that he sees ! So King , we all are so happy that you, dear boy, have found your happily ever after.
UPDATE – KING
KING IS NOW HEARTWORM FREE !!!!!
THIS BOY CAME TO US EMACIATED , HE ALSO HAD A TICK BORN DISEASE AND HEARTWORMS . HE HAS BEEN IN TREATMENT FOR 4 MONTHS ! HE WILL NOW RECOVER FOR AT LEAST A FEW WEEKS AND THEN HE WILL BE NEUTERED . KING IS JUST A FABULOUS AND STRIKING BOY !
HE IS AMAZING….
We were so happy about the Negative heartworm test ! YES !
Thanks to all who support us ! We simply could not go on without you ! Together we CAN and DO good things !
PLEASE REMEMBER (for those experiencing severe winter conditions ) WITH THE SNOW, ICE, AND COLD WEATHER TO WATCH OUT FOR AND HELP THOSE ANIMALS THAT ARE NOT SO LUCKY….

UPDATE – KING
KING WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR PANCREATITIS FOLLOWING HIS LAST HEARTWORM TREATMENT . HE IS FEELING MUCH BETTER .
(click on picture to see entire picture )
I spent about two hours with KIng and just held him and loved on him. He fell fast asleep in my arms for a good 20 minutes . It was heaven for me and for him. This was yesterday , on the one year anniversary of Lad coming to us….. I knew Lad would approve of spending time and helping another Collie . It felt as if Lad was in the room with us . A very moving experience . Lad we will never forget you ….. we are also honored that we can help sweet King.
King will need to be on a special diet but other than that is acting and feeling so much better ! After King gets a negative test for heartworm , hopefully soon , he will then be altered and then be ready for his forever home. A visible fence is a requirement and of course lots and lots of love ! The person who eventually adopts King will be blessed with a dog with a beautiful heart and soul….He is amazing.
Adoption and Foster applications are on our website at www.thearrowfund.org
Donations to The Arrow Fund are always needed . Please help if you can. Donations can be made at www.thearrowfund.org and checks may be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127 Prospect, Kentucky 40059.

KING RECENTLY HAD HIS 2ND ROUND OF TREATMENTS
(2 INJECTIONS BACK TO BACK ) FOR HEARTWORMS . HE BECAME VERY SICK AND IS CURRENTLY AT BLUE PEARL ON FLUIDS AND IV PAIN MEDS .HE IS SUFFERING FROM PANCREATITIS. PLEASE ,PLEASE KEEP OUR BOY KING CLOSE TO YOUR HEART .
(In this picture , King had just eaten, so he still had some food on his sweet nose !)
King’s treatment has been a long one . He came to us with a body scale 2 – very emaciated and Heartworm Positive and he also tested positive for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever . So he was on Doxycycline for 60 days , then had his first Heartworm Treatment , then 30 days later he had two shots back to back for the 2nd round of Heartworm Treatment.
We need a wonderful foster home to step up for this beautiful boy. King deserves the chance to heal in a loving home , could that home be yours? He is a wonderful boy and thrives on love….
Donations are needed . As you know , many of our cases take months and months to be ready for adoption. Our medical bills are always very high. Please consider a donation of any amount to The Arrow Fund . Donations can be made at www.thearrowfund.org and checks may be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127 Prospect, Kentucky 40059.
Thanks everyone for supporting us . We sure need you and working together we CAN and DO Great things…
KING INITIALLY CAME TO US WITH A BODY SCALE OF 2 AND IN VERY SAD SHAPE. HE IS HEARTWORM POSITIVE AND HAS TESTED POSITIVE FOR ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPOTTED FEVER.
In these pictures you can see King is one handsome boy. These were taken after King had a spa makeover ! King is gradually gaining weight. King is on two months of doxycycline before he starts his first heartworm treatment. So his recovery will take a while. He is looking and acting like he feels so much better . King did test negative on the MDR1 test ! King is at Shelburne Pet Center and trainer Ashley is working one on one with this boy. When medically cleared this baby will be a great addition to a family !
Thank you for all of your support!
