The Arrow Fund had another very sad loss tonight . We named this precious baby Denver . We were alerted today of Denver who was in a trailer fire recently in Letcher County , Kentucky . He was rushed to us and evaluated at Blue Pearl .
His burns were very severe . He was in shock and in pain . Denver was evaluated by several Vets and quickly put on IV pain meds and antibiotics . You could see the pain leave his face after the pain meds were administered .
Blood Work revealed that Denver had 0 white blood cells . His blood pressure was not stable . So many factors lead to the decision to ease Denver from further suffering .
The burns were so bad and infected . Recovery , if he made it through the night , would have been long and so painful .
I stayed with Denver a long while telling him of the love that we all had for him . I can ‘t lie , it ripped my heart out . Since no one claimed him after the fire – I told him I was his Mom . I told him how all of you loved him . He was such a sweet boy and deserved so much more …
I want to thank his transporters for getting him to us . Thank you to Tammy who alerted us about this boy . I also would like to thank Chessney who was going to be Denver’s foster mama .
Denver left this world being held and told how much he was loved … We will always love him …
Such a special innocent …
This was such a heartbreaking case . We will love you forever Denver .
With tears in my eyes I bid you all a goodnight .
