Breed: German Shepard
Let the music begin: 🎶 After 858 days in the care of The Arrow Fund, Cello has been adopted!
Yesterday, Mark and Sharon Stowers officially adopted Cello and welcomed her into their family. This gregarious girl not only has her own bed in EVERY room of the house, but her proud parents also have installed a camera in her kennel so they can keep an eye on this playful pooch when they’re at work.
If you’ll recall, Cello was rescued by The Arrow Fund on Nov. 5, 2014, after we received a call that a German Shepherd had been intentionally shot in the head at close range and her tail had been cut off. It has taken more than two years to help Cello heal physically and emotionally from the trauma she suffered, which is why we are filled with joy about her adoption. Please join us in celebrating Cello and the Stowers. She’s finally going to the home she always deserved!
There are just some stories that capture your heart. Cello’s is one of them. Cello came to The Arrow Fund with a severe head wound due to a close-range gunshot inflicted at least a week prior to her rescue. We have no idea how she survived on her own that long, but she did. Today, this resilient, charming, and loyal German Shepherd is a symbol of just how much a difference loving people can make in a dog’s life.
If you haven’t met Cello, you are missing out. This beautiful lady is full of energy and love, and if you love her back, she will brighten your days and be your most loyal friend. Whether she is snuggling with you on the couch or chasing her favorite tennis ball, she is happy just to be with you.
Cello loves playing ball – all you have to do is throw it and watch her bound away after it, bounce it, paw it, bark at it and then bring it to you. If you’re too slow to pick it up, she will lay down next to you, roll over and lean on your foot while she stares up at you. Who could resist?
As a German Shephard, Cello is eager to help out and thrives when she has a purpose or job. She would love to be your running or play partner. As a result of the gunshot wound that cut her field of vision in half, Cello can sometimes get ahead of herself and needs her human to slow her down and help keep her safe. All she really wants is to be near you, but sometimes she loses sight of you because of her vision loss. We guarantee if you keep her close and help her keep track of you, she will never let you down. Cello prefers to be an only pet, and would do wonderful in a family that is looking for that one special dog. With Cello around, you will never want for love or laughter in your home. Please help us give Cello the overdue happy ending she so desperately deserves.
Udate on Cello
Cello came to us in November with a gunshot wound to her face. After extensive medical care including surgeries Cello is now ready to be adopted.
Cello has a lot of love to give but she needs to be an only pet. She has a lot of energy and will thrive in a home that helps her focus that energy in positive ways such as running, tracking, or other dog sports.
Thank you for all of your support!
CELLO IS HEALING WELL FROM HER EXTERNAL WOUNDS – SHE IS STILL A VERY SCARED GIRL EMOTIONALLY. WE ARE WORKING WITH HER SLOWLY . SHE IS AT SHELBURNE PET CENTER WHERE ASHLEY SHELBURNE IS WORKING WITH HER ONE ON ONE . WE ARE ALSO WORKING WITH A BEHAVIORIST.
Cello was spayed yesterday at Blue Pearl and everything went well. The pictures shown were taken before she had her surgery. We all want the best for Cello . It just will take time and patience. We are trying to come up with the best profile for her future adoptive home. Cello loves people and bonds very quickly . She is very high energy and will need lots of mind stimulation as well as physical exercise . A lot of change scares her. Please keep Cello in your prayers . This girl was shot as close range and suffered for at least a week with these injuries – so she needs time to know that no one will hurt her again.
Thank you for all of your support!
