Our thanks to our foster homes John and Debbe Pinkerton ( actually now officially forever home for Mama Castle ! Yippee ! )
Mackenzie Longoria is fostering baby girl Bourbon and Kristi Horn is fostering baby boy Key . Both babies will be altered soon . We feel so honored to have helped this little family in their time of need …
Update – Castle (Mama) and pups Key (male ) and Bourbon (female ) .
Pups found with severely emaciated Mama in Johnson County , Kentucky on the side of the road .
All three of these beautiful babies are now in loving foster homes !
Mama was just not gaining weight nursing and her being a body scale 1 , this was an issue . She sure did take great care of her babies , even being so thin . We feel certain that everyone will thrive getting one on one attention from their foster families . A reunion may be planned in the future for them to visit each other once everyone is more adjusted and Castle is at a healthy weight .
Update – Castle , Key , and Bourbon
Emaciated mama with pup found on the side of the road in Johnson County , Kentucky. Another surviving pup was found several hours later .
Mama Castle and little boy Key and little girl Bourbon are all holding steady . All are being monitored 24 hours a day at Blue Pearl and are on scheduled eating plans .
Mama came in weighing 32.2 on intake and was totally emaciated with a body scale of 1 . This sweet girl still is very devoted to her pups and letting them nurse . The pups are also being supplemented with other food . The boy pup Key came in weighing 3.6 and alert . The little girl Bourbon had been separated from her mama and was found much later . She is weaker and smaller . She only weighs 2.9 pounds . This girl is on hourly respiratory watch .
They all are more hydrated , but their weight is still about the same . As their food is increased , we hope to see a slow healthy weight gain .
Please keep this little family close to your heart . ♥️ Our thanks to Dr. Stephanie O’Connell for her wonderful care .

The Arrow Fund – New case
In transit now
We need names suggestions .
We received a call from our friend Tammy Noble asking if we could help this severely emaciated Mama and her only surviving pup . They were dumped in Johnson County , Kentucky. To see that Mama trying to give nutrition to her only living baby ,when she is so starved, is just heartbreaking.💔
Please note this picture was sent to us – we at The Arrow Fund did not give this starving Mama that amount of food . This is very dangerous on an animal that is body scale 1 ) Re-feeding Syndrome is very dangerous when this thin. We will start her on a scheduled eating program at Blue Pearl when she arrives with her darling baby . We are not faulting anyone – it is first instinct to feed a lot , but can in essence be life threatening when they are this malnourished.
