Breed: Greyhound mix
Emaciated and severe wounds resulting in amputation. Leg was degloved . Pippa is also heart worm positive .
Pippa is now in her foster home with Debbie and Paul Croak after having her front leg amputated and a toe amputated on her back left leg . All other wounds were closed as well . We were so worried about this girl because of the trauma she experienced. You could tell she was still so petrified. Well we are happy to report we are now getting tail wags ! Debbie and Paul are excellent at showing the unconditional love these innocent and brutally abused animals need . Pippa also tested positive for heart worm, so she has that battle ahead as well .
Pippa is slowly recovering and learning that there are actually good humans on this Earth . We love her and ask that you keep this baby close to your heart .
Surgeries were just performed to remove Pippa’s front left leg and toe on her back left leg .
Pippa is in recovery now and being monitored very closely .
Please keep our girl close to your heart .
Our thanks to Dr. Josh Bruce and the surgical team at Blue Pearl . We also appreciate the rest of the staff for watching over our Angel .
Update – Pippa
Greyhound mix- 1 to 2 years old
25 pounds – severely emaciated and
is body scale 1 of 9 .
Multiple wounds to chest , underbelly,
front left leg degloved and most of foot gone , back left leg has wounds .
She required a blood transfusion immediately on intake . Pippa’s front leg will need to be amputated when she is stronger .
Pippa is Heartworm Positive. Very sad . She also has a slight murmur so an echo cardiogram was done . No damage to the heart but is not functioning as it should due to severe dehydration and being emaciated. This function should improve as she gains weight slowly and gets stronger .
Pippa was in such pain when she arrived . What a relief it must have been to have pain medications after suffering for so long !
The Arrow Fund – New Case
Incoming- we really are at capacity but could not let this baby suffer .
Greyhound mix – unsure of age – approximately 25 pounds – bones exposed . She is on her way to Blue Pearl .
We are naming this innocent baby girl Pippa . Please keep her close to your heart .
We are in desperate need of fosters . I can not stress this enough . We have no facility at this time , so fosters are critical. We certainly would love a facility in the near future. We also need adoptions of our animals in our system that are ready for adoption.
